The Obstinate Ones....

Jack is a walker! It was so smart and cute of him the day he grabbed two pens, one per each hand, as balancing sticks and took off. We had been trying to get him to walk a little more and he found a way to do it on his own. Two days later his balancing sticks were no longer needed and we were so proud. Once the walking was covered, that was all he wanted to do and now we are at the stage where getting into everything is his obstacle. He's a curious and smart little boy so anything that is not a toy, he wants to examine and make it a toy. The only thing is some things he isn't allowed to play with and when disciplining him has to come into the picture he'd rather look at us, laugh and try to do it again rather than listen. When we say "no" and shake our head, he giggles. When we slap his little hand, it doesn't phase him. It's not until we put him in "jail" (playpen) that he starts to throw a fit because now his privilege of getting to walk everywhere has been taken away. I know it's something that must be done in order for him to understand and even though his trickery of crying without tears is still hard to watch, we have to let him "cry" it out. I would have never thought this day would come so quickly. I was preparing my self for the Terrible Twos, but I guess every age has its "terribleness". :) he has learned how to utilize his cuteness to get his way and it has worked! He has a face we can't resist and I'm afraid it'll get even more cuter with age which will make it that much harder to resist. Sweet boy....
